Chinese lucky money STEM challenge- free resource
At the time of Chinese New Year it is traditional to give money in a red envelope to family and friends. In Chinese culture red is considered a symbol of good luck and prosperity. A gift of money in a red envelope is a wish from the giver that the receiver will have good fortune throughout the year ahead.
This fun activity will stretch imaginations and develop creative thinking as children are challenged to design and build a device that can remove coins from a red envelope. It is easily set up using readily available materials and minimal preparation.
The resource includes a challenge worksheet, red envelope template and brief facilitator notes. It is completely free and can be downloaded here.
If you try it out we would love to see your brilliant designs so do share them with us #artylingua
