At Artylingua we are committed to enabling all children to enjoy creative learning and reach their full potential. Being a registered Arts Award moderation centre enables us to offer children the opportunity to complete the highly respected Arts Award programme which is open to children and young people between the ages of 5 and 25.
Arts Award qualifications are internationally recognised, sit on the ofqual register and the Gold Award carries UCAS points which can be used towards university entrance.
Arts Award’s unique qualifications support children and young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.
The programme develops skills for success in 21st century life including creativity, leadership, reflective thinking and communication skills. Young people also develop knowledge and understanding of their chosen art forms.
Through Arts Award young people learn to work independently, helping them to prepare for further education and employment.
The restrictions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic means that we are currently unable to offer our face to face Arts Award workshops however, we have created a distance learning course that children can do at home with our online support and fantastic resources! Completing the course will enable children to gain an Arts Award Discover qualification which is the first step on the Arts Award ladder.
Cost £5 per child (the Artylingua course resources and tutor support are free. This fee is to cover the cost of certification which is provided by Arts Award.)
Aimed at children aged 5-11
Come with us as we explore the art of seven continents! Discover the colourful buildings of Africa, the embroidery of Palestine, the cave drawings of Australia. Wonder at the artwork created by Inuits and the bark paintings of Mexico. Be wowed by the masks of Venice and Brazil...
This course will provide children the opportunity to discover a variety of art forms from around the world. They will explore a variety of styles, colours, textures and inspired by what they see, will create their very own master pieces.
The course is made up of 8 lessons which each include:

Children will need to complete the activities and workbook to gain their Arts Award Discover certificate.
We have tried to make this course as accessible as possible. Fancy equipment is not needed to participate but you will need a few things:
Access to a printer,
An email address,
Colouring pencils, crayons or felt tip pens,
You will also need to be able to take pictures of work done so that we can process your certificate application.
